Spotlight on Community
Masterworks Choral Ensemble (MCE) believes in giving back to the community that supports us. We believe in using the power of music to give "voice" and support to local organizations that contribute to the betterment of our community.
Masterworks is now accepting nominations of local non-profits for our SPOTLIGHT program that honors organizations that have made a significant contribution to our community. Through the SPOTLIGHT program, MCE strives to increase each group's visibility and enable them to receive donations at each of our concerts. For these organizations and the people they serve, music will make a difference.

Concern for Animals |

Concern for Animals is a nonprofit founded in 1980 to assist residents and their animals in Thurston, Lewis and Mason counties. In 2010 alone, CFA provided financial assistance to more than 4000 animals for spay and neuter, vaccinations, and emergency medical care. Last year, the nonprofit gave out hundreds of bags of dog and cat food and began an adoption program that placed more than 400 pets in loving homes. Family Support Center of South Sound |

Family Support Center of South Sound is a nonprofit family & child service agency located in the heart of historic downtown Olympia. Their mission: “Working Together to Strengthen all Families.” Since 1992, Family Support Center’s programs and innovative partnerships have helped build strong, healthy, self sufficient families. Programs include Parent Education, Family Resource Services, Supervised Visitation & Foster Child Support, Homeless Family Services, and a 30-bed Family Support Shelter for homeless children and families. www.fscss.org |
South Puget Sound Habitat for Humanity |

South Puget Sound Habitat for Humanity is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, faith-based housing organization. HFH partners with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. Houses are sold to qualified families for no profit and without interest fees. Families make a down payment and a monthly mortgage payment, and provide sweat equity. Working with donors, volunteers and partner families, South Puget Sound HFH has, over the past 21 years, helped more than 40 families realize the dream of home ownership. www.spshabitat.org |
Out of the Woods |

Since 2006, Out of the Woods has achieved great success in helping families break the cycle of homelessness. A non-profit, Out of the Woods provides round-the-clock services in its residential shelter to homeless families with children, for up to 90 days. Client families gain access to community services and stable housing, and learn parenting and other life-stabilizing skills.
